Alastair hails from Walkerton, Ontario.  After working as a business manager in Whistler, British Columbia and Dawson City, Yukon, Alastair moved to Nova Scotia in 1996 to earn his Business Degree at a local University. He then went to work as an accountant at a CA firm for 2 years.  During that time, he got involved in real estate with the purchase and renovation of rental properties. Alastair started his career as a realtor in 2002 and immediately became a top producer at a large real estate company due to his business experience, personal approach in dealing with people, and his understanding of the value of providing good, honest customer service. However, in time he realized that his clients were not getting the best service they could by being represented by a large franchise company which had too many representatives with their own self serving interests and no concern for his own clients. He established Lakeland Realty in May of 2005 and created a real estate company whose masters would be its clients, first and foremost, as opposed to a franchise head office in some other part of North America. As well, the team of real estate professionals at Lakeland Realty would work with one another as opposed to being individual agents just working under a franchise umbrella. As a result, Lakeland Realty has been a successful competitor in the real estate marketplace since day 1 of operation and its business continues to grow on the strength of referrals from satisfied clients.  Alastair and wife, Sonia, live on beautiful Lewis Lake in East Hants with their 3 precious children, William, Callum, and Gwynneth.
